Platformer Progress Update 6
Still working away at the game, pretty much at the graphics, polish and performance optimisation end now. I’m also working on a few side projects with the Arduino, ColorDuino and some litte electronics projects.
Recently, I’ve added checkpoints, a medal system, fleshed out the menus and scoring screens, a really large, hard level, help labels and built up some more game architecture, and I have made loads of tiny little improvements everywhere.
Im currently having issues with a certain performance issue, causing gradual degredation of gameplay over the duration of the play. I also can’t figure out how to delete the sprites/animation of coins when the physics body is destroyed.
Still to do,
1. Stop subclassing gameobject from CCSprite
2. Clean up the coins, then add in the gems, grav flips and teleporters.
3. Stop the gradual performance degredation
4. Remove the leak of each physics body’s GameObject instance… (maybe related to 3?)
5. Make the levels…
